How does Christian coaching work?

The coaching partnership focuses on equipping and empowering you to make the changes you desire in yourself and in your relationships. It is about reaching your maximum potential and helping you stay focused as you recognize, organize, energize and realize your God-given purposes.

Recognize
Through conversation, questionnaires and assessments, we begin to discern and clarify the answers to these and similar questions:

Where are you now?
Where do you want to go?
What is holding you back?
What are you skills and talents?

Organize
Once you have established what goals are most important to you, we explore your options with questions such as these:

What is your next step in moving toward your objectives?
What are the resources you need – financially, spiritually, emotionally and physically?
Who are the people you can team up with to move toward your goals?
What distractions need to be eliminated from your life?

Energize
As you begin to move toward your goals, you will hit obstacles. You doubt, you get discouraged, you delay doing the very things you need to do.

A coach will help you stay focused on the big picture, encourage you, brainstorm your options, empower you to make wise choices and help you tolerant the pain of setbacks and plateaus.

Realize
When you are intentional and persevere through any difficult transitions, you will have the satisfaction of saying, “I did it!”  You experience the joy that comes from making the changes you desired (even when you thought you couldn’t).

What’s the difference between Christian coaching and counseling?  Aren’t they the same?

Christian Coaching and counseling are very different. Coaching focuses on growing intentionally with purpose and passion and builds on your skills, talents and strengths.

Counseling focuses on healing from the trauma and pain of the past and often addresses weaknesses.

How does group coaching work?

Group sessions include a maximum of 6 participants (minimum of 4) and meet weekly over the phone for four sessions. The topic addressed, as well as the time and the dates for each session are pre-determined. The participants for your group are the first 6 people who register. Each call is one hour (your phone carrier’s charges apply). If you skip a week you can listen to the recorded conference call. However, there is no credit or make-up given for missed sessions.

For each session you will be given the telephone number to call. It is not necessary to have a phone service that handles conference calls. Prior to the first session you will be asked to submit a brief introduction about yourself which I will email to the group. This will help us get to know one another before we begin working together. After each session, you will receive homework to help you apply the principles discussed and get the most benefit from your next appointment.

I know coaching is very popular right now.
But is it really worth the investment of time and money?

One of the greatest gifts of having a Christian coach is that he or she often can see and help you identify those obstacles that are keeping you from progressing to the next level. Awareness of these issues will better position you to develop a plan of action and move forward.

Christian Coaching is about getting results and realizing your dreams. Having a coach is like being a plant growing in fertile, well-watered soil with plenty of sun compared to growing in rocky, dry ground. The difference is dramatic. Most clients see an immediate difference in the quantity and quality of movement toward their goals.

What are your fees, and what forms of payment do you accept?

For individual coaching we meet on the phone for 45 minutes to help you define and get the results you want. Once we agree on a convenient time to talk, I will call you for your session. Whether you initially commit to work together for 3, 6 or 12 months, you can discontinue at any time. The cost is $150 per session (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Paypal or check) and includes each 45-minute telephone call and email.
